It’s easy to know when you love someone,
but when love is unconditional,
it can be hard to explain why.

Because love can’t always be easily described.

It’s an emotion whose reason resides in the subtleties of life —

in the passing moments we seldom notice,

the quiet gestures that never ask to be remembered.

These moments embody love with a lowercase l

Our intention with this book
is to gift you the everyday reasons behind your love

to help you see your lowercase l’s.

A note from the founders

The idea behind TIL was born when I couldn't think of a gift for my fiancé, Jordyn, that was both within my budget and worthy of gifting to her.

I was underwhelmed by any of the impersonal, generic options I could think of. I needed to get something special. Something memorable. Something that would be relevant for our entire relationship.

I ended up caving and getting her something less memorable that year—a jacket, or something. But I made a plan to make next year's anniversary gift extraordinary.

I started writing notes of one thing that I loved about her for each day of the year. Some weeks, I'd go days before remembering to write an entry. That just made me reflect back on all of the fun moments we shared that past week.

Her reaction to receiving the gift was priceless. (And, to be honest, it doesn't hurt my ego when she tells all of her girlfriends about it...)

But the process of recording the moments was just as big of a gift to myself as it was to her. I cued into all of the little things she does that makes me love her. All of the reasons behind my love that I couldn't describe if you were to ask me why I love her.

Now, after sitting with this concept for about a year, Jo brought up the idea of sharing this journal concept with everyone else.

We're on a mission to help people find the love that's baked into the small moments. We're so grateful that you have taken the time to learn about this project, and we hope that you'll consider ordering a journal for yourself.

Thank you for being a part of this movement!

With love,
Chase
